Greetings in Christ!
It’s starting to sound a lot like winter may be coming our way in the next couple of days. We have a forecast of the potential for snow and blowing snow. We’ve been blessed with one of the best falls in years, perhaps God will bless us with a nice winter.

Next Tuesday we have the opportunity to participate in one of the best activities we can here in the United States – vote!!! We want to encourage people to vote! This is our opportunity to be citizens and witnesses. Please take the time to vote next Tuesday, November 2.

Do we have any cross makers out there? We are looking for someone who might help us make a simple wooden or metal cross that could withstand the challenges of being outside. We are hoping to have someone willing to help us produce them in quantity for a project we hope to get off the ground in the next couple of month. If you are someone like that, please give us a call.

Our An Amazing Day effort is exciting already. We’ve had over 20 people who have already offered to be prayer warriors. We’ve been blessed with over $13,000 in gifts and commitments already this month. And, we have 30 great stories from past campers and staff on our website. Please visit our website and add your own story. Here are some of the locations our gifts have come from: Big Lake, Kensington, Dassel, Swanville, Park Rapids, Willmar, Vining, Underwood, Fergus Falls, Morris, Fargo, Vergas, McIntosh, Montevideo, Alexandria, Echo, Frazee, Pelican Rapids, Fisher, Bagley, Saint Michael, Otter Tail, and Arizona.

We still have plenty of room for you to join us in the coming events including our Quilting Retreats, our Old Fashioned Christmas, another Joy of Marriage Retreat and plenty of time for your own retreat.

Chapel update – we’ve now set up both basketball and volleyball in the Messiah Hall. It will be a great place to have for our winter programs. We’ve had several recent gifts that are getting us closer to be helping to hook up the main heating system. Praise God!

MAWFCA – our final training for this round went very well and we thank those who were able to attend. We’re going to be looking at scheduling another round in the future. Some congregations are now kicking off their campaigns and we’ll look forward to sharing results with you soon. We’ve had a couple of congregations contact us right away about participating in the greensneakers promotion and we are looking for many more to do so. Just let us know of your interest and we’ll get everything out to you as soon as possible. We’re going to have a collection box here at camp for any of you who want to bring your tennis shoes here.

We want to remind you or the JOY OF MARRIAGE Retreat coming up in November. You can download a brochure from our website. We will also be having one next spring, May 20-22, 2011. Old fashioned Christmas Weekend (Santa’s Workshop) will be a great event for families or for grandparents and their grandkids. We’ll do some baking, make some gifts, talk about the real meaning of Christmas and so much more. We’ll include a trip to Thumper Pond Water Park, great meals, devotions, and some fun games and activities. We’ll also be decorating our big 9 foot Christmas tree.

Our fabulous November Quilting Retreat is coming up next week. So after you vote, head out to camp for 3 to 5 days of sewing and quilting peace. We provide great meals, a fireplace that goes almost non-stop, some great scenery and fellowship with other quilters. It’s not too late to register so give us a call!

Question and Answer:
Question: I found something wrong on the camp website. How should I let you know?
Answer: We operate two websites, plus Facebook and sometimes events, times, registration forms or other things don’t get changed in all of the right places. Altogether we’re working on nearly 300-350 pages of information that is constantly changing. So, we really appreciate it when you let us know when you find something like a wrong price, a date missing, or any suggestions you have that might make things better for our website visitors.
