November 1, 2011

Greetings in Christ,

Welcome to November! It’s hard to believe we have only about 60 days left of 2011. We’re working hard on 2012 programs and are very pleased with the progress so far. We’ll be celebrating our 60th Anniversary this year so please consider joining us.

It was an Amazing Day on Sunday as hundreds if not thousands of people had a day of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving.  They were praying for camp, give praise to God by sharing their camp stories, and giving thanks for the gift that have allowed us to provide 60 years of service to the congregations of this district. We were blessed with a total of $44,170.02 during October.

Ken and Bill spent Saturday visiting Our Redeemer in Moorhead where they participated in their Mission Fair. It was great to visit with many old friends and to meet some new ones along the way.

Marvin finished taking the beach elements out yesterday. It’s sad to see the beach empty but next summer will be coming soon. Marvin also has most of the cabins winterized as well. We do have lots of beds in the ERC, log cabin, retreat house, and Martha cabin that will be available all winter long.

Our website has had a facelift. For us, the content management system makes it much easier for us to make changes. We haven’t had much time to make changes yet, but will be doing so soon.

We hope to post most of the 2012 summer schedule on our website in the next week. People can start registering using the forms that can be downloaded. On-line registration is not yet available. We have some exciting new offerings this summer including a Beginner Horseback weekend, a Classic Camp for Teens, a special end of the summer event for youth, an additional Family Week in August, along with our regular great summer events. WARNING! We already have several family reunions booked along with other groups coming. These will have an impact on the rest of our summer 2012 Schedule. Some weeks will fill quickly.

We’ve already had some registrations for our Horseback camp that will be held right after Christmas. We also have two Youth leadership programs coming up in December that will utilize our new Equine College

We’ve got a couple of great Quilting events coming up. We’ve got one going on this week and a couple more coming up in January. And, we’ll have some great craft events coming up this spring.

We’re putting together a new list of things that we will need at Christ Serve Ranch. Our first events have now been scheduled for CSR in January.

Would you like to know more about our plans for Christ Serve Ranch? Would you like to hear about the Creation-Science Environmental Learning Center that will be located there? How about our new Equine College? Now is the time to schedule a speaker for your youth group, ladies, family fellowship, our fellowship time.

Question and Answer:

Question: Will you be helping with congregation VBS weeks again next year?

Answer: Yes, it’s not to early to schedule our staff for your VBS.  We’ll provide a team of 3-5 staff to help with your VBS program. They may also be willing to do some outreach in your community while they are there. We’ll have more information available soon.
