Greetings in Christ!

May God shine on you with the same great beauty that He is given us today. When we realize the joy of salvation, we can’t help but Reflecting His Light.

Why not use Greensneakers for your VBS program. It would be a great way to help both the Make A World for Christ Appeal and foreign missions. Call camp and to get your Greensneakers collection bag, a poster and other information. And don’t forget to bring your VBS kids out to camp. They can deliver the sneakers and get their picture on the VBS wall of Reflecting His Light. We’d love to have pictures of all the VBS kids throughout the district. We’ve attached an information sheet for you to share.

Work on the Retreat House continues with another crew coming in this Thursday. New windows are being installed, new siding will be put on, and we hope a new deck will also be installed. We want to thank the Clay County Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for their support with a grant of $750 toward the purchase of materials. The Fergus Falls Circuit congregations have adopted the Retreat House and have adopted a 5 year plan to renovate it. They are actually working on year 3 projects this year and it is looking great!!!!

Our summer staff will be arriving on May 24th. Most of our staff are completing at least their first year in college. They will go through about 12 days of training before the first youth campers arrive.

There is still time to sign up for our Creation Photography and Art camp which is for youth and adults ages 12 and older. We have great leaders and a wonderful place to find exceptional natural scenes and animals.

We have a bargain sale at camp for families! Three days for the price of two. Enjoy our Memorial Day weekend family camp of 3 days and pay for only 2 days. This would be a great tradition to start your summer. Housing and meals are included and we’ll also try to arrange for a horse pulled wagon ride, pontoon ride, and some fishing in addition to a great Bible study, great youth activities and so much more.

We are offering some great Day Camps this summer. We have one in June and two in August. We’ll also be holding Day Camp at Prince of Peace School in St. Cloud during June. These give lots of kids the opportunity to experience camp while at the same time being less costly and allowing the kids to go home each night. We are in need of a 16 to 20 foot horse or stock trailer. We have two small trailers that work fine for hauling 1 or 2 horses at a time, but we need a bigger trailer to haul our bigger draft horses and to haul 6 or more horses for certain events. If you are aware of a trailer we can offer a possible tax deduction for all or part of the cost of the trailer.

We also are needing a 9 foot haybine. Again, we can offer the possibility of a tax write off for all or part of the value. Check with Marvin at camp.

Confirmation Kick-off is a great event held each fall (September 9-11). It allows pastors to spend informal time with their confirmands in a camp environment while also providing excellent speakers, music, and worship experiences. Each year more congregations join us for this great event. Costs are underwritten from Stepping Out in Faith grants.

Young Scientist camps are a great way for 10-15 year olds to experience science without the theories of evolution clouding all of the scientific facts. If you have a child or grandchild who loves science or who enjoys nature, sign them up for our Young Scientist of Creation Safari camps.

Question and Answer: Question: Where do the summer staff come from? Answer: Many of them are students at our synodical colleges. Some are former campers and graduates of our Christ Serve Leadership program. Geographically, the come from around the Midwest.
