2019 Quilt Auction

28th Annual Quilt Auction

The 28th Annual Quilt Auction will be held on Saturday August 3, 2019. It will bring together hundreds of bidders, quilt and silent auction items, and many volunteers all of who are committed to making Lutheran Island Camp and Christ Serve Ranch the best place for children and families to strengthen their faith.

Quilts are made by individuals and groups throughout Minnesota. They include quilts ranging in size from baby quilts to plus King Size. Many are machine quilted - all are beautiful.

Crafts, books, rugs, wood working, paintings, glass work, furniture and more make up our Silent Auction. Bidding continues throughout the day on these fun items.

Again this year our auctioneer will be Doug Maser. He does a great job of bringing fun and excitement to the auction.

Paddle down the Father of Waters from St. Cloud to Clearwater.  This canoe route was used by Native Americans for centuries and later by missionaries and explorers like Zebulon Pike, Henry Schoolcraft and Father Hennepin.  The Mississippi Valley along this stretch has maintained much of its “wilderness” appearance due to being designated a Minnesota Wild and Scenic River in 1973.  We may see variety of native plants and wildlife.

We will paddle 10 - 12 miles downstream from St. Cloud to Clearwater.  The trip will take 4 -6 hours depending on river and weather conditions and paddler experience.  There are no significant rapids on this stretch of the river, although currents may present a challenge to inexperienced paddlers.  Participants should have some basic experience using a canoe or kayak.  Both types of watercraft will be used for the trip.
