Grandparent and Teens

Join us for Lutheran Island Camp’s first annual Grandparents and Teens Day featuring Dr. Rich Bimler, well known author, speaker, and active church man.

Dr. Bimler will help participants understand the special bond that exists between grandparents and their grandchildren.  This day builds on that bond and allows the participants to grow closer together, to share concerns, ask question, and impart wisdom and knowledge.

We expect that this day will provide grandparents with time to communicate what is important in their faith life and provide an opportunity to pass on to their grandchildren the values and beliefs that are important to them.

And it will provide teens with an opportunity to be heard as they share the challenges that they face, the things that are important to them and the issues that they must deal with every day.

There will be a presentation on planning for the future, especially as it relates to financial planning for both grandparents and teenagers getting ready for some of the most expensive years of their lives.

Date: Friday, October 18 from 1-7 pm

Cost: $15  The regular rate would have been $30 but we received a grant from Thrivent Financial.

The Art of Marriage Retreat

When you were standing at the altar reciting your marriage vows, did you have any idea that marriage would be so complex?  It probably didn’t take you long to understand that your spouse is not as much like you as you thought.  But figuring them out is more than just an equation. Marriage is more than a science; it’s an art.  And like any art form, requires an investment of time, focused study and the right tools.  If you need to soften some of the edges in your relationship, or want to brighten the landscape of your marriage, The Art of Marriage is for you.  This 6-session marriage event allows you to experience God’s design for marriage from expert teachers and humorous vignettes.  You’ll graduate in a few hours better educated about your marriage, your spouse and yourself.  Block out time in your schedule to attend The Art of Marriage.
