Adult & Family Events Fall 2019
Lutheran Island Camp is a family friendly place for year round activities. Enjoy the freshness of Autumn at the Island with your entire family. Join us for one of our events or develop your own self-directed retreat or reunion using our Log Cabin, Retreat House, Martha Cabin, or our Mary or Noah Lodges.
Join us for Bible study, lunch, and a ride on our pontoon boat and /or a ride on a wagon drawn by one of our teams of horses—all while enjoying the tranquility of autumn on the Island and fellowship with other older adults. Consider brining your LWML, seniors group, LLL, couples club, or other group from your congregation.
Cost: $15 per person (retired church workers at no charge) (Wagon rides are available for an additional donation)

Every month we will take a day to enjoy the beauty of the area, join together for a meal, and spend some time discussing issues that affect many of us. Each day begins with coffee and bible study at 10am and includes a meal and activities until 3pm. Cost for each day is $15. September 3 -Late Summer Excursion: Enjoy a pontoon ride and time outdoors as we say farewell to summer.
October 1 -Fall Colors Getaway: A wagon ride and trip through the beauty of Otter Tail county’s fall colors will highlight the day.
November 5 -Grief Support: Pastor Steven Breitbarth will lead sessions and bible study on working through loss and the grieving process.
December 3 -Island Christmas Dinner: Enjoy the first Island Christmas dinner a week early!

Join us for three days of imagination!After choosing your character, you'll be launched into an interactive story filled with strategy, team-building, physical challenges, and puzzle solving. Good news: you don’t have to be a great actor! This year, TOTAL ECLIPSE will take us back to the 1980s for a ghostly family reunion. This activity is a great Christian alternative to Halloween, and is for ages12-99. Cost is $120
November 5-10, 2019
This is a wonderful time to get away and do nothing but quilt. There are no strangers at our quilting retreats even if this is your first one. Quilters of all skill levels are welcome to come and spend up to 5 days quilting. We have excellent meals, devotions, and plenty of time for you to quilt, hike around the Island, or sit by the fireside. Register early, these events usually fill. Meal Prep Extravaganza (NEW!)
Come to camp for the day and leave with family supper for a week! Health Coach Amanda Kaldor will teach you how to plan out a week of healthy meals, then prepare them all ahead of time so you can just pull them out of the fridge or freezer to throw in the oven when you need them! All participants will leave with five meals (enough for four to five people) to take home and eat later. Event starts at 10am and includes lunch. We will provide all necessary ingredients and equipment! Cost is $100. Bring a helper (no take home meals) for $15 extra
Self-Directed Retreat or Reunion
Join us for a weekend or weekday event using one of our cabins. You can prepare your own meals or we will do them for you (minimum of 10 for meals). Set your own schedule, use our boats and canoes, hike, go horseback riding or take a wagon ride, visit local attractions, fish, golf, or hunt. We’ll provide devotional materials and Bible studies as you wish. Select the cabin you want or a combination of more than one. Rates applicable from September - May Log Cabin sleeps up to 8 $125 per night. Retreat House sleeps up to 20 $175 per night. Mary Unit Lodge (available until October 15) sleeps 8-10 $100 per night. Noah Unit Lodge (available until October 15) sleeps 8-10 $100 per night.
Fall Deer, Geese, Duck Harvesting Retreats
If you are looking at coming to some of the finest hunting areas in the State of Minnesota consider using Lutheran Island Camp as you base camp. We have several cabins available for self-directed retreats or we can prepare meals at camp and pack-outs for you. Give us a call and we’ll discuss your needs and put together a package for you.
