Youth Events
The Fall of 2008 will provide exciting opportunities for youth whether they are individuals or groups. If you don’t see something of interest below, give us a call and we’ll work with you to establish a memorable and inspiring weekend with your youth group.
Heroes in the Word Confirmation Kick-off is a great way to begin your confirmation instruction. Youth from around the state will come together to learn and grow. In addition to presentations provided by our presenters, pastors will have adequate instruction time for their own group. Featured presenter is Reverend Don Fondow, President of the Minnesota North District. To download a brochure, click here. Regular cost is $89, but is reduced due to a Stepping Out in Faith grant. Autumn Adventure: Take 40 or so kids who’ve been in school for a month; bring them out to camp for a weekend at the end of September; throw in some of our best and brightest staff members; put them in a cabin or retreat house; mix in a hayride, kayak trip, sports activities, hiking and orienteering, challenge course, a few campfires, a great Bible Study, moving devotions and worship, and you have Autumn Adventure. Grandparents as Heroes: Grandparents are often Heroes in the lives of the grandchildren. This retreat is intended to allow grandparents and their grandchildren to spend time together. There will be time for grandparents to discuss some of the issues they face as some of them raise their grandchildren, others struggle with children who have drifted away from the church, and others wonder how best to be supportive of their grandchildren. Dates: October 31-November 2. Cost: $118 for grandparent and child (3-10). Additional grandparent $62; additional grandchildren $30.
Spend some time with that special child in your life. This retreat is intended for mom or dad; grandma or grandpa; or some other significant adult to bring their little lamb (3-5 year old) or sheep (6-8 year old). Arrive Friday evening, then enjoy a Saturday with your child, including Bible Study, great meals, a trip to Thumper Pond Water Park, and more. Sunday morning will be a relaxing time with brunch, worship and be on your way by noon. Dates: November 14-16. | Try an Adventure Camp for youth or families: Have a great time camping out one or two nights, riding horseback or hiking trails or canoing several lakes. You'll be studying God's word as a group, have meaningful campfire devotions and come to know God's creation a little bit better. Costs vary depending on experiences sought. Lodging can be in tents, tree houses, or cabins. Call us to set up your adventure. This is a great alternative birthday party for teens. |  |
Youth Retreat Availability: Would you like to come to camp for a youth retreat? We’ve set aside several weekends for that purpose. You can plan the retreat or we’ll help you. Costs will vary according to special activities, meals, and number of nights stayed, but a basic rate for two nights and 6 meals is $89. Dates: September 12-14; September 26-28; October 24-26; October 31-November 2; and November 14-16.
Extras available: Horseback riding 1-2 hour ride $10-$15; Wagon rides $30 for up to 10 at a time; Pontoon Ride: $20 for up to 12; Thumper Pond Water Park $10 per person.
