Giving Choice
Giving Choice is the new program from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Certain individuals who are members of Thrivent Financial are able to direct dollars provided by Thrivent to the charity of their choice. Thrivent Action Team Grants
Each year Thrivent Financial members are able to lead two Thrivent Action Teams and receive up to $250 for each project. These projects can be done to benefit Lutheran Island Camp and Christ Serve Ranch. Listed below are just a few ideas of projects that you can help us with. To find out more, click here.
Help with staining or painting cabins and other buildings

 Thank You Willmar!  Sew new curtains for a cabin

Do a fundraiser to help send kids to camp Bring a group to help cut wood.
Help us with a mailing and help buy postage or provide lunch - we have two big mailings coming up in January 2017. Build sections for the boardwalk at the ranch
Plant some fruit trees at camp or the ranch. Apply in March 2017 Use Thrivent funds to help start a garden
Build pic nic tables for the ranch. Have a project to build a new element in our equine  course.
Support the Mushroom Making event. Thank you Bill and Judy Schultz Use Thrivent Action dollars to repair a cabin.
Install a set of wheels on a dock Build a weather station at the Ranch
Build a swinging bench Help with Fencing at the Ranch
Help with Day Camps (Please call as there are many projects at each Day Camp) Build fire rings
Help us develop our security camera system Provide more signage at the ranch
Put in a sandpoint and pressure tank for our garden

Help with artwork and posters especially on the Days of Creation
Road upkeep Install a new door at Mary Cabin.
Help purchase helmets for broom ball (Thank you Norm Prochnow) We still need a few more. Do a butterfly garden at the ranch. (apply in March 2017)
Paint the Cottage at the Ranch. Help with painting in the ERC.
Help promote our Shoes for the Mission project (this is a fundraiser) Help us organize the office better. This could include new file cabinets, different desks, shelving, and more.
Help layout new plans for the harvested wood at the Ranch Provide funds to do some maple sugar harvest in February/March.
Host one of our dinners for legacy planning and/or Building New Bridges. Help us raise funds for completing the boardwalk across Ellen's Pond ($250 for each 10-12 foot section) We have about 40-50 sections to go.
