Please note that checkin times for all events begin at 3:00 pm unless noted on the program description.  Check out is after the ice cream social (9:30 am) and closing worship (10:00 am). Be sure that you check out with your counselor.

Teen Trek Classic Camp:

This is the way camp has been for three generations and we've set aside one of the best weeks of the summer for our Teen Trek Classic Camp. It is based on youth having lots of fun doing many different activities. The list of things to do includes: archery, basketball, softball, disc golf, swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, volleyball, and more. Classic Camp will include a great Bible Study, sing-a-longs, devotions, cookouts, skit night, canteen, and crafts. Horseback riding will be an option available for campers.   Check our website for an expanded list of activities.

Performing Arts Camp

Whether you want to be an actor, a comedian, a vocalist, a musician or someone who works behind the scenes you'll want to join us for our Performing Arts Camp.  By the end of the week, we'll have a variety show that will highlight each of your God given talents. And don't forget all of the other great camp activities available at the Island.

Voyageur/Teen Trek Otter Tail Adventure

Adventure is the right word for this camp! Young men and women head off to a new adventure every day. There will be a tubing trip, horseback riding, camping, exploring, hiking, shooting sports, plus lots of the regular camp activities done in new and unique places. We'll travel throughout Otter Tail County for this great adventure. Sign up early and with a friend!

Building the Island

We’re building on the Island again. Participants will help with a variety of building projects, staining and painting, waterfront work, and clearing trails. Depending on need, weather, and numbers, some participants may be shifted to our Christ Serve Ranch Servant events. Christ Serve Ranch Servant Events

Be a part of the first groups to visit Christ Serve Ranch. There are all sorts of projects that need to be done.  The first Creation-Science Environmental Learning Center in the nation is located at Christ Serve Ranch. Help build trails, observation decks and shelters, develop scientific experiments, remove brush and trees, and build corrals and docks. Participants will have a greater understanding of our Creator God and how we can use Genesis to better grasp the significance of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.

Horse Outreach Program

We are looking for at least one group to help us get our Horse Outreach Program ready for the summer of 2015. Participants will help groom horses, clean-up our tack, build campsites, clear trails, and generally help us get the horses ready. There will be at least an hour or two of riding each day. 

Ages: Teen Trek (14 and older)

Dates and Rates: #1 May 28- June 2 $250; #2 June 4-9 $285

Inger Native American Servant Events

Travel to Inger, Minnesota and spend the week working with Native children and families. Participants will lead children, youth and families in games, activities, Bible Study, and devotions. We will also do community service projects with the Native community. It is a great 5 day event that brings back people year after year. If your group is interested, sign up early. We are limited to the number of people we can bring with us.  Individuals are also welcome. If your group would like to extend their experience a day or two, we can make arrangements to provide some great camp experiences as well.

Christ ServeSM Leadership Training Camp

Christ Serve Leadership Training provides youth with a unique opportunity to be trained in leadership skills, then put those skills into practice. Young people who would like to someday be on staff at Lutheran Island Camp or who desire to be Teen Servants/Junior Counselors should attend this program. We seek to identify, inspire, develop, and train young leaders for life-long service in the church and in their communities. Some of the program will be done in our Equine College and at Christ Serve Ranch.

Ages: Teen Trek (14 and older)

Dates and Cost: #1 April 21-23 for returning Teen Servants $75; #2 June 4-9 for new and returning Teen Servants, $165; #3 June 11-16 for new and returning Teen Servants, $165.

Teen Trek Survivor BWCA Trip

If your youth group would like to travel to the BWCA, we’ll help you make the arrangements, help staff it and provide canoes and food.  Let us know before April 1st.

Voyageur/Teen Trek Survivor Crow Wing River Trip

Agreat adventure for youth who want the opportunity to try out their kayaking skills on one of the most beautiful rivers in Minnesota. The Crow Wing River Trip provides a great time of fishing, camping, and outdoor fun. Participants will arrive at camp on Sunday, leave Monday morning and return to camp on Thursday.

Big Fish Camp

You'll have some great fishing stories to tell after this week! Each year we catch large Northern, several 4 lb. and better bass, walleye, giant crappies, and a couple of nice Muskies. We expect you to know fishing, be willing to learn more, and bring your own equipment.  We have instituted some new policies and procedures and there will be a limit of 12 campers each week unless additional volunteers and boats become available.

Voyageur/Teen Trek Shooting Sports Camp

Campers journey of-site to a nearby shooting range and receive training from a MN Certified Firearms Safety Instructor on shotgun safety and shooting technique.  Shotguns are available for those who don’t have their own.  This week is complete with swimming, field games, archery, Bible study and much more!  Campers stay in cabins or the Retreat Center located on main camp with bunk mates of their choice.  This is only an introduction to safe gun handling.  Participants will not earn a firearms safety certification or hours towards certification.  Visit Minnesota’s Firearms Safety website for certification course information.

Wrangler Horse Camp

Those campers with a little more riding experience will want to take advantage of this week! Wrangler Horse camp offers more time in the saddle than the Tenderfoot version, plus you ride on more advanced trails, camp out one night with your horse, and experience what you and a good horse can do with some gaming.
