January 6-8, 2012

 A new retreat will be held on the Island for new quilters wanting a more intimate atmosphere in which to do their own quilting projects. A mentor will be available at the Retreat House, where your lodging and quilting time will be spent. Your meals and devotion times will be shared with the larger quilting group at the Retreat Center.  To download a registration form click here.

Ranch Stars

The Story of Jesus in the Stars Reverend Carl Noble of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Perham will be leading the first retreat at Christ Serve Ranch. His topic will be “The Story Of Jesus In The Stars”. Pastor Noble is a noted amateur astronomer and has led retreats at Lutheran Island Camp in the past. Pastor Noble has an extensive collection of beautiful photographs of stars, galaxies, and other astronomical phenomenon.   Weather permitting, we’ll be taking our telescope, binoculars, and cameras out to search the skies for God’s creation in the heavens. January Quilting Retreat:This is a wonderful time to get away and do nothing but quilt. There are no strangers at our quilting retreats even if this is your first one. Quilters of all skill levels are welcome to come and spend up to 5 days quilting. We have excellent meals, devotions, and plenty of time for you to quilt, hike or ski around the Island, or sit by the fireside. Register early, these events usually fill. Father and Son Ice Fishing Weekend:

Join us for our Father/Son Ice Fishing Weekend. We’ll provide housing, great meals, Bible Study, devotions and help find the best fishing spots on lakes in the area. Housing will be in our Retreat House and Martha Cabins. This would be a great program for fathers and sons (or daughters).  Dates: February 10-12 Rates: $89

Men's Retreat:  Join other men in Bible Study, fellowship, recreation, worship, and so much more.  A self-serve supper will be available Friday night beginning at 5:00 pm. Other events will include our 4th Annual Chili cook-off, broomball tournament, cross-country skiing, sing-a-longs, ice fishing and more. Housing will be in the ERC, Retreat House, and Martha cabin. The program will be held in the newly renovated Chapel and Messiah Hall.

Speakers:

Dr. James Tuorila moved up quickly through the ranks of the VFW to become its Surgeon General. He is a psychologist in the St. Cloud area and has been instrumental in developing the “Honor Flight” program for that area. He does work with veterans and his topic is “Men at War”.

Dr. Jim Otremba has recently established a new partnership with the Minnesota North District. He is a author and psychologist focusing on family and children. Dr. Otremba and the Minnesota North District are working together on a number of projects in support of families. His topic for the retreat is “Fighting the Battle of Addictions as Men of God.”

Pastor Paul Hennings, pastor at Love of Christ in St. Cloud, will leading a session on Sunday entitled “Being Who We Are In Christ”.
